In 2019, we organized a three-day international youth sports tournament in football, volleyball and basketball for the second time. The number of participants was even higher than the previous year, and around 300 children from Croatia, the Czech Republic and Bosnia and Herzegovina joined us on the sports fields of the Le Meridien Lav hotel.
“Our intention is to encourage children and young people to get out of their homes, spend their free time in society, playing sports that suit them. Sport will not only make them healthier and more active but will also prepare them for the numerous personal and professional challenges that await them in life, and I can confirm this from my own experience,” said Mike Saran, founder of the Sport2Life Foundation, at the opening of the tournament.
PARTICIPANTS
Among the 8 teams that showed their football skills, NK Primorac from Stobreč was the best team. The teams also competed in basketball, and the winner was the team from SŠ Zenica. As many as 16 teams participated in the volleyball tournament, and the young Czech volleyball players from the Orion team won.

Footballer Stipe Pletikosa and volleyball player Senna Ušić Jogunica personally supported the children in Split this weekend and participated in the activities during this international cup.
The organization of the tournament and the interest shown by the children and parents encouraged us to further expand our activities. Thus, in cooperation with Split elementary schools, we organized the educational program Healthy School Break with the aim of educating children about nutrition, and twice a week we organize various sports activities as part of the Universal School of Sports i.e. Sports & Healthy living school.
